Coronavirus (Covid-19) Update - July 2021
optometry from july 19 2021
Infection prevention control guidelines will
stay in place
Covid restrictions end in many settings in England from Monday 19th July 2021.
Public Health England’s infection prevention control guidelines are to stay in place across all healthcare settings including opticians practices in order to protect those who are more vulnerable and who have not been vaccinated against COVID-19 and those providing your eye care.
The College of Optometrists has confirmed that their guidance remains unchanged and opticians practices in England should continue in ‘Amber Phase’ complying with the relevant social distancing and infection control measures.
Samantha Hague Optometry will continue to follow our well established ‘covid-secure’ procedures and patients are kindly requested to continue to wear a face covering whilst on our premises*.
We are providing a full range of services STRICTLY BY APPOINTMENT
Thank you in advance for your continued support
If you have symptoms associated with coronavirus including a new continuous cough and/or a high temperature and/or a loss of or change in your normal sense of smell or taste you are advised to stay at home for 7 days. www.nhs.uk/coronavirus
Your health and safety remains our priority and we are continuing to take the following steps to keep us all safe.
By Appointment Only
Please call to arrange an appointment before visiting the practice whatever the reason.
Should you visit us without pre-booking we may have to turn you away.
By operating in this way we are able to limit the number of people in our premises at one time in support of social distancing.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Our staff will be wearing appropriate PPE and safety screens and equipment modifications will be in place making our practice a very safe environment for your eye care.
We would appreciated it if you would wear a face covering whilst on our premises* unless directed otherwise.
Hand sanitiser stations are available in the practice for all staff, customers and patients to use.
We would ask that you attend the practice without gloves and use the hand sanitiser on entering and leaving the premises.
The practice will be kept safe with the regular deep cleaning of all surfaces and equipment.
In between patients the consulting room equipment and practice surfaces will be thoroughly cleansed.
Appointments will be further spaced out to limit the number of people in the practice and allow for cleaning to take place in between patients.
We encourage the use of card payments to reduce the handling of cash.
The card terminal will be cleansed after each transaction.
In some circumstances we have been directed to conduct a ‘telemedicine’ consultation before you visit so that we can give you the best advice and signpost you effectively.
This is primarily expected in the case of NHS CUES services – thank you for your co-operation.
All spectacle frames and samples will be sanitised after being handled.
We look forward to working with you to provide the very best eye care in the safest and most convenient way.
Being a fully independent practice and not part of a chain is very important to us as it gives us the freedom to give you the very best advice and widest possible choice of products without compromise.
With a modern practice, fitted with leading-edge hi-tech ophthalmic equipment, ethos and values based on quality, service and patient care – we will always aim to exceed your expectations and be there whenever and whatever you need.
Originally established in 1985 as Sheward Opticians, the practice was bought in 2019 by independent optometrist, Ms Samantha L. Hague BSc. MCOptom and recently became Samantha Hague Optometry.
With our values built on the pillars of excellence in quality, service and patient care our team has a genuine passion for what they do and their enthusiasm is palpable from the moment you enter our beautiful practice.
We are proud to stock a great selection of frames, lenses and contact lenses.
