Eyecare Services & Appointments

The frequency of routine eye testing varies from patient to patient. After your first eye examination at Samantha Hague Optometry, your Optometrist will advise you on the best eye examination schedule for you. Shortly before your next eye examination is due, you will receive a reminder in the post, inviting you to schedule your next appointment.

We recommend our gold-standard ‘Full Eye Examination’ to all our patients, featuring leading-edge technology and extended appointment time with your Optometrist. This examination goes further than simply a ‘sight test’ as it assesses the overall health of your eye with the detailed scans and imaging recommended by our Optometrists. This is available to private patients and as an enhancement to the standard NHS-funded sight test for eligible patients. For more details, please visit our Services page.

For full eye examinations, please allow up to 45 minutes for your appointment, plus time to browse our frame collections should you wish. For other appointments, shorter appointment times may be allocated. All appointments are carefully scheduled to ensure we can give you the very best care and attention in a calm and unhurried setting, always putting your individual needs first.

With just one consulting room all our appointments are scheduled to ensure that you will always receive the time, quality, and one-to-one care and attention you deserve. We treat every patient as though we are treating a family member, tailoring our service to you. This approach allows us to centre our service, product advice and clinical care around your individual needs, tastes and preferences.

About the practice

We are a family-owned independent business, established in 1985, with a core focus on our one and only boutique practice in Tettenhall village. We specialise in luxury eyewear and exquisite, often exclusive, collections of frames. Our unique values are built on pillars of excellence in quality, service and patient care. Each and every team member has a genuine passion for eyecare and their enthusiasm for patient delight is palpable from the moment you visit. The practice is award-winning, most recently being named national ‘Independent Practice of the Year’ in The Optician Awards in 2022. For more details, read more about the SHO Difference.

No, we are one of the few remaining fully independent practices in the local area and not part of a national group, franchise or chain. Our independent spirit and values are at the heart of everything we do. This gives us complete freedom to provide you with the very best care and the widest possible choice of frames and lenses without compromise.

Extremely up-to-date. The practice is modern with leading-edge hi-tech ophthalmic equipment installed. Ongoing investment is made in ensuring the practice equipment is kept up-to-date as new innovations are released. This approach ensures that you experience the very best patient care and the most thorough eye examinations when visiting Samantha Hague Optometry. For more details, visit our Technology page.

On Tettenhall High Street just beside Lloyds Bank / Old Police Station, there is a convenient, un-metered short-stay car park which provides 3 hours of complimentary parking (at the time of writing). Additionally, there is on-street parking available in close proximity to the practice.

Post-COVID, we continue to operate a locked-door, appointment-only policy to ensure your comfort and care by limiting the number of people in our practice at any one time. The practice is kept safe with regular deep cleaning of all surfaces and equipment, and all ophthalmic equipment is thoroughly cleansed between patients. Our beautiful eyewear pieces are taken care of very conscientiously by our team to ensure that they remain in pristine condition with regular cleansing and sanitising. For more details, please visit our COVID-19 page, or please call 01902 757454 should you have any queries or concerns.
